Our power lies not in becoming someone else, but in unfolding – revealing to the world who we have been created to be.
You don’t need to be something else or something different, who you are is perfect. So, give yourself permission to unfold stripping down to the rawest and most authentic version of yourself, and seeing it as brilliant and valuable. As you do, you’ll begin to see yourself living freely and glowing with light allowing you to experience the greatness you were destined for.
It’s so easy to walk by people and make judgments about who they are based on some small passing detail or flaw that you’ve observed. Maybe their attitude appears to be rude. Maybe they aren’t as outgoing as you are. Either way, without taking the time to actually get to know someone and hear what they’ve been through, you really have no right to judge anyone.
The things we observe superficially are just that; they are false impressions that don’t tell you anything about what others have actually experienced. Take the time to really get to know people, ask them what their story is, and be a good listener. That’s why there’s a saying; “NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER”.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. Big fan of SNL. Shared outta fun.)
This post is my little respect to those who enjoy traveling.
Traveling messes you up, but in all the good ways. It leaves you craving more, an addiction that can never quite be met. Every place, every trip, every person is a new unexpected adventure; pulling you deeper into the love of wanderlust. Your heart begins to hurt when you’re standing still, and your mind begins to itch over the idea of new places you haven’t been. Fill your soul with adventure and traveling and you will live a fulfilled life.
Why once you’ve traveled for the first time all you want to do is leave again!! They call it the travel bug, but really it’s the urge to return to a place where you are surrounded by people who share common interests & speak the same language as you do. Not English or Spanish or German, but that language where others know what it’s like to leave, change, grow, experience, learn, then go back home again and feel more lost in your hometown then you did in the most foreign place you visited. Missing few of my stupid university mates while typing this post. Grateful for the days which always pop up as memories in my Google photos.
I am a big petrolhead, but i also prefer a silent calm environment with less noise & pollution. Cities are beautiful because of it’s people, so it’s always our responsibility to make it more sustainable. You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the kind of friends you have, the work you do, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in, the way you respond & react.
You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner.
You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge, experience and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colours fill your mind. Be a real you.
Be a walking contradiction. Be strong and soft. Be deep and lighthearted. Be beautiful and intelligent. Be confident and humble. Be someone with a quick wit and a cheap sense of humor. Be content climbing a mountain and enjoying the sweetness of doing nothing.
The world may try and classify you as one thing because that is far easier to understand than a person who has a little bit everything in them. And you may feel misunderstood for a while, but just remember your people can only find you if you’re brave enough to be yourself. There are parts of you that you have yet to discover. There is greater love that you have yet to find. There experiences that are are far beyond your imagination. And it’s all waiting for you. Life is waiting for you. So set aside your expectations and go explore it. Life is fun, let it be. (Not my words)
Forgive yourself, for the bad decisions, for the times you lacked understanding, for the choices that hurt others and yourself. for being young and reckless.
These experiences are what matters most right now. These are vital lessons & your willingness to grow from them.
Life is choice, all day everyday. Who we talk to, where we sit, what we say, how we say it. And our lives become defined by our choices. It’s as simple and as complex as that. And as powerful.
