We all have a bag.
We all pack differently.
Some of us are traveling light.
Some of us are secret hoarders who’ve never parted with a memory in our lives.
I think we are all called to figure out how to carry our bag to the best of our ability,
how to unpack it,
and how to face the mess.
I think part of growing up is learning how to sit down on the floor with all your things and figuring out what to take with you and what to leave behind.

When you are no longer friends with someone,
Respect the secrets they shared with you,
It’s called integrity.
It’s easy to look back and question decisions you have made in the past, but it’s unfair to punish yourself for them.
You can’t blame yourself for not knowing back then what you know now.
And the truth is you made each decision for a reason, based on how you were feeling at the time.
As we grow up we learn and we evolve.
Maybe the person you are now would have done things differently back then, or maybe you are the person you are now, because of the decisions you made back then.
Trust your journey, it’s all going to make sense soon.

Life is amazing.
And then it’s awful.
And then it’s amazing again.
And in between the amazing and the awful, it’s ordinary, mundane and routine.
Breathe in the amazing,
Hold on through the awful,
And relax and exhale during the ordinary.
That’s just living heartbreaking, soul healing, amazing, ordinary, awful life.
And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.

Forgive yourself
for the bad decisions,
for the times you lacked understanding,
for the choices that hurt others and yourself,
for being young and reckless.
These experiences are vital lessons.
And what matters most right now is your willingness to learn & grow from them.
It never ceases to amaze me how time moves so quickly through our lives.
The older I get, I find that it just goes faster and faster.
When you are a kid, each day seems like it could last forever.
It makes me realize that we have to savor each moment, however big or small, and every person that comes into our lives.
Don’t let the day pass you by.
Do something meaningful for yourself or someone else.
The past is a ghost, the future a dream and all we have is now.

Trust your own intuition.
Another’s mind isn’t walking your journey, you are.
Sometimes it’s better to just let things be.
Let people go.
Don’t fight for closure.
Don’t ask for explanations.
Don’t chase answers.
Don’t expect people to understand where you’re coming from.
You got to keep fighting for you because no one got you like you got yourself.
