Once you stop fantasizing about that ideal version of yourself and start working towards becoming that person by setting your alarm clock earlier and actually going to the gym, and actually volunteering at places, and actually eating healthier, and actually remaining consistent, and not procrastinating, and working just a little bit harder, you’ll realize that it was so easy all along.
Becoming your ideal self will only ever exist in your mind until you make the decision to work towards becoming that person. Get up!! Get going!! It’s now, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Get that flashlight and pave your own path. No one else is going to do it for you.
Strength is forgiving people that don’t even feel sorry for their action. Strength is putting a smile on your face when you want to cry a river. Strength is not hurting those who hurt you. Strength is forgiving others.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. Watch it for fun, one of my favourites from superwog.)
Never stop being a GOOD PERSON because of bad people.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. Money is not given, it’s earned. People have to work for it. You can’t wake up those who are faking a sleep. Oppertunities are discovered & pursued.)
1. You commit to and practice observing yourself. 2. You notice a story you’re telling yourself. 3. You set a boundary you may not have set before. 4. You honour a commitment to yourself. 5. You take ownership and accountability when there’s something to own. 6. You can see another perspective outside of your own. 7. You see the pain of others in their reactivity without over personalizing. 8. You move away from changing others and move towards integrating the change you’d like to see for yourself.
GROWTH is often uncomfortable, messy, and full of feelings you weren’t EXPECTING. But it’s necessary.
1. Become more observant. Notice everything that surrounds you. The world is full of examples, ideas, words, wisdom, mistakes and experiences.
2. Collect ideas. Ideas and thoughts tend to evaporate from your mind too fast. Try to capture them before it is too late. Ideally, write down or sketch every single one.
3. Read. Read a lot. Reading is probably the best investment of time ever. Devote at least 30 minutes per day to reading. Ideally, have a book always with you. If you aren’t interested to buy a book or Kindle, then watch any free documentary in YouTube which can help you learn something new.
4. Analyze your day. Before going to bed, spend 10 minutes analyzing your day. Consider what things you managed to do well and what mistakes you made.
5. Start writing. The biggest value of a good writing skill is that it cultivates a discipline. First of all, the discipline of thinking. Your thoughts will cease to be random and chaotic. They will gradually become systematic and structured instead.
We all made choices that maybe weren’t the best ones. The beauty of being a HUMAN is hidden in the mistakes we made. First accept yourself for everything wrong you did. Because acceptance matters nothing if you aren’t honest. None of us are completely innocent, but we get a fresh start everyday to be a better person than we were yesterday. Learn to be a positive/better version of yourself with time. Be you.
I love people who aren’t afraid to be their own weird and wonderfully imperfect self. These people make people happy, these people are so rare and special. We need more people like this in the world, and that’s why you shouldn’t ever wish to be anybody but your weird and wonderfully imperfect self.
The people who are meant to be in your life are the ones who know how to gently wait for you to heal. You do not want to rush actions with them. For if you do, you will miss the lessons you can learn along the way.
-WRITING ON WAVES.
(Video by Alux & the title is; Being well when you are alone is a SUPERPOWER.)
You’ll end up very disappointed if you grow up thinking everyone has the same heart as you do.
People in general are assholes one way or another. Choose your people wisely.
7 Things to Keep in Mind:
1. Go after dreams, not people. 2. Love yourself and the rest will follow. 3. Never lose your sense of wonder or your sense of humour. 4. You are capable of more than you know. 5. No regrets in life. Just lessons learned. 6. Your only limit is you. 7. Life goes by in a blink of an eye. So live life.
