You deserve to be in spaces and relationships that make you happy; that feed your soul and help you grow. You are worthy of connections that are loving, nourishing and genuine. Before you settle for anything less than, remind yourself that the places you visit and people you journey with through life should make you feel safe, loved and enough. -Alex elle.
Sometimes we need tears to be able to access the deepest joy. When times are hard, make sure you allow yourself to feel the sadness. Let your tears fall knowing that they will surely pass and something wonderful is on its way to you.
If you’re sad, take some time to try and remember the joy that will undoubtedly follow. Remember it’s always darkest before the dawn.
Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. -PSALM 30:5.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. Can’t say how appropriate is this song in such circumstances. But a light-hearted humour is welcome even during the darkest days. This song is both quirky & funny. Power to peace.)
The most important lesson I’ve learned over this past year is, don’t let anybody make you cruel. No matter how badly you want to give the world a taste of its own bitter medicine, it is never worth losing yourself.
Mental health is so important. Prioritize your personal wellness. Take time to nurture yourself.
Don’t do things that you’re not happy with. Don’t rush your healing. Relax. Don’t judge where you’re at. Don’t judge where you think you should be. Just be kind and patient with yourself.
There will be times when we feel knocked down at every turn. Grief, depression, and so much more. It’s important to preserve a sense of humor. You have to remember to laugh at these things or they’ll control you. Laughter will help you see the light in the darkest of times. It’s more powerful than you’ll ever know. Even at your lowest points, keep your sense of humor and use it.
Man, when you lose your laugh, you lose your footing. – KEN KESEY.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. I haven’t said anything on this Ukraine-Russia war situation till now. Other countries must stay away from joining this war because there’s a huge risk of further escalation.)
You made that choice to improve for a reason. Don’t go backwards to habits and situations that weren’t helping you evolve. You have to keep reminding yourself why you even decided to move forward.
Stay positive about what’s to come by being consistent with your change.
Most of our lives move at such an accelerated pace we don’t always have the time to stop and reflect on how far we’ve come. We are usually too busy looking ahead. But it’s so important to keep checking in with yourself. We change all the time. It’s easy to get caught up feeling dissatisfied with where you are when you don’t take the time to appreciate how far you’ve come. You don’t have to be exactly where you want to be, but the fact that you are on your way is remarkable. Good things and progress take time.
Make today all about celebrating how far you’ve come in your life since last year. What is something you’ve changed in your life that you are proud of?
Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. -RICK WARREN.
Every morning, we get a chance to be different. A chance to change. A chance to be better. Your past is your past. Leave it there. Get on with the future part.
There were times in life when I let myself get completely consumed with jealousy for someone else’s life, their body, their wardrobe, their talent. It’s a common emotion to experience. They call it the green eyed monster for a reason. It’s self-destructive and when it’s in the room, it consumes you. Be strong and don’t focus on what other people have.
Release any jealousy you have for someone else’s life and allow yourself to feel deep gratitude that you are living your own life. Don’t torment yourself with jealousy. It’s a silly illusion that someone’s life is better than yours when the truth is that each one of us is on a different unique beautiful path.
