You can always start again. Clean out your social media. Create a new account. Create your new taste in music. Study or work in a new city. Start socialising with new people. Choose a new signature scent and style and purge the outdated parts of yourself.
If you don’t like where you’re at, but you don’t know what to do about it; TRY STARTING AGAIN.
We are the books we read, the films we watch, the music we listen to, the people we meet, the dreams we have, the conversations we engage in. We are what we take from these.
We are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. We are a collective of our experiences.
You can always start again. Clean out your social media. Create a new account for your new taste in music. Study or work in a new city. Start socialising with new people. Choose a new signature scent and style and purge the outdated parts of yourself. If you don’t like where you’re at & you don’t know what to do about it, simply try starting again.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
People are swiping right when it comes to mental health, and neglecting it is apparently the latest dating dealbreaker. pic.twitter.com/dJVk9eNNY9
(This tweet got nothing to do with the post above. Not blaming or judging anyone who’s using tinder or bumble. I never use dating apps when i am in my city of residence, i am already occupied with entertaining my people, work, workout & studies. I install tinder only when i travel alone to a new place for work or i have a connecting flight. My experience says, on first date girls in their 20s usually prefer some activities over a conversation & of course some good food. But once that date crosses to next day, it gets quite nasty because almost everyone carries a shitty past. Most of the time i block such contacts. People never understand how important it is to heal & come clean for the sake of own sanity. I can’t say anything beyond that age group. My biggest turn offs are inconsistency & lies.)
I hope there are days when your coffee tastes like magic, your playlist makes you dance, strangers make you smile, and the night sky touches your soul. I hope there are days when you fall in love with being alive.
People never understand “what you want to do” is always connected to “what you need to do”.
Suppose i want to be an engineer, i need to study engineering. Suppose i want to a writer/musician/athlete, i need to learn & practice writing/music/sports. Suppose i want to get fit, i need to workout.
What you want to do doesn’t make any sense till you aren’t following what you need to do first. This is the major reason most people stay unhappy & blame others for their failures. This one tiny mindset change can drastically evolve your life in a year.
NEEDS FIRST, WANTS NEXT.
(This movie trailer got nothing to do with the post above. My first real full-time job was software developer before i switched to data analytics field. I know where we are heading with time, our world isn’t going bad as this trailer shows. But the way technology is advancing, who knows what’s coming after hundred years!! Anyways, there are no boundaries for imagination.)
It’s the little things in life. It’s the people who don’t just text you, but take the time out of their day to put you in their schedule; no matter how busy they are. It’s the friends that are authentic and don’t fake what they feel. The people who are straight with you and accept you for who you are; down to the raw scars and burns. It’s the pure feeling of happiness while driving your AMG when you’re listening to music with people you love and there is absolutely no where else in the entire world you would rather be. It’s the feeling like we’ll live forever, like we’re young forever. It’s the love that soothes our heart which makes life feel happy to die for. It’s the love that breaks our hearts but knowing the feeling of pain and feeling the pain, but getting through the pain; only to be grateful for the feel of life, the feel of living.
Moments and little things, acts that make every breathe so incredibly amazing. That’s what I live for; these moments that make us feel infinite. Life is fun. Let it be.
Pay more attention to what stirs your heart. Pay attention to the music that makes you want to cry, or dance, or jump right out of your skin. Pay attention to what makes you happy truly happy, the kind of happy that drips from your bones, the kind of happy that gives you hope, and makes you believe that you have a reason to be here. Pay attention to the things that make you laugh, the things that make you smile. Really focus on figuring out what compels you. Really focus on discovering the aspects of the world that interest you and challenge you and make you want to learn and grow.
You have to pay attention, To the things that make you believe in being alive. To the people that support you and build you up and make you feel like you’re understood in a world that can sometimes feel like a haunted and hurtful place. You have to pay attention to the life you want to create for yourself. Because you are in charge of your own happiness. You are in charge of who you become. So, if something makes your soul feel like it is finally home, pay attention to it. Whether it is a job, or an idea, or a goal, or a person, or a place, just follow what makes you feel alive. Just make your life your own.
Life changes. You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone. And then, without you even realizing it, these pieces come back. Love blooms inside you with lots of respect. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you is staring back in the mirror. No matter how bad it gets, better days are always waiting, hoping you’ll make it there to accept the smiles and joy that they’re offering.
Someone once told me to always live for the little things in life. Live for 5am sunrises and 5pm sunsets where you’ll see colours in the sky that don’t usually belong. Live for road trips and bike rides with music in your ears and the wind in your hair. Live for days when you’re surrounded by your favourite people who make you realise that the world is not a cold, harsh place. Live for the little things because they will make you realise that this is what life is about, this is what it means to be alive. LIFE IS ALL ABOUT A CONSISTENT FLOW OF POSITIVE VIBE WHICH STARTS WITH YOU. (Not my words.)
Don’t settle for nice, for pleasant, for familiar. Keep looking until you find something that really moves you, that resonates with your core. And I mean this for people, for interests, for hobbies, for your possessions, clothes, music, books, art and everything.
Curate every aspect of your life, as much as you can. It’s in the things that deeply inspire us that we find ourselves. Surround yourself with truth, and you’ll have built yourself a heaven. You can have your heaven on earth. (Not my words).
